Cambridge Studio Gallery 2015 Portrait Prize February 11 to 28, 2015
Artists are invited to submit works in the 2015 Cambridge Studio Gallery (CSG) WHO is LOOKING at YOU? Portrait Prize.
WHO is LOOKING at YOU? is for works depicting the human face as its subject matter.
All mediums accepted and unique approaches encouraged.
Judges 
Graeme Drendel
Graeme Drendel is a Melbourne painter who has exhibited extensively throughout Australia over the past twenty years. He has held over 20  solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions and  been a finalist in various major art prizes over that period. A dedicated painter of the human figure and the psychological intrigues that emanate from human interaction, his work is held in several public and many private collection nationally and internationally.
Colleen Ahern
Colleen Ahern completed a Bachelor of Arts, Painting, from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1999. Professional experience includes teaching appointments at Victorian College of the Arts, Swinburne University and Victoria University.  Colleen teaches both drawing and painting, and has worked as a professional artist’s assistant since graduating. She is currently represented by Neon Parc Gallery, Melbourne. Her work predominately exploits notions of identity, through the use of iconic popular imagery, and the obsessions of the ‘fan’, employing both painting and drawing mediums. Her solo exhibitions include ‘Cortez the Killer’, Neon Parc, Melbourne( 2013), ‘Of skins and heart’, Neon Parc, Melbourne ,(2010), ‘Frantic Romantic’, Neon Parc, Melbourne (2007); 'Angels on Airwaves', Neon Parc, Melbourne (2006); 'Steal Your Face,' Seventh Gallery, Melbourne (2005); 'Your Ok… You can Come in', TCB Art Inc., Melbourne (2003). 
Some of Colleen’s recent group exhibitions include: 'Rockem Sockem',St Helliers Street Gallery (2014) 'Dear Masato, All at Once', Margaret Lawrence Gallery, Melbourne (2014) 'Smoking Gun', Death be Kind, Melbourne (2011);'A Way of Calling', Linden Contemporary Art space, Melbourne (2011);'Jewell of the Newel', Firstdraft ,Sydney (2010); 'Photocopier', Centre for contemporary Photography, Melbourne (2010).
1st prize: A solo exhibition held within the following 12 month period at Cambridge Studio Gallery.
A people’s choice award: A place in Cambridge Studio Gallery’s 2015 end of year group exhibition.

Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing 2015

Australian artists are invited to enter the Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing 2015.
Valued at $25,000 the award celebrates its 10 Year Anniversary in 2015 (acquisition prize). Australian Artist, Mr Peter Kingston AM, is confirmed judge and will award the prize for the best drawing completed within a period of 12months prior to 16 January, 2015. 
Entries in the competition are also eligible to be considered for The People’s Choice Award, valued at $2,000.00 (non-acquisitive).

Jakarta Art Award 2012

Understanding “Ideal World”

The meaning of Ideal World in the theme for the present Jakarta Art Award national competition is: The best and most fun for life.

The meaning of the “world” could be elaborated into two. The first is micro, referring to the personal and surrounding space. Inside, there are “my” world, the world of “my family”, the world of “my friends”, the world of “my city”, the world of “my country”, and the world of “my fellow human”. The other is macro, referring to the understanding of wider world, such as the earth and the universe.

Participating artists are allowed to choose: micro, macro, or both. They are also free to take any angles they love to paint. The artists are not prohibited to view the “world” from subjective point, and not prohibited to surface any profane and spiritual objects. Participants, too, could present the Ideal World from objective insight contains global issues, environment problems and geo-politics.

“Ideal World“ is the theme easy to understand with wide variety of angles to be represented in art.

- paintings are not limited by categories (contemporary, modern, post-traditional, traditional, classical, and so forth are acceptable), Two-dimensional artworks
- Mediums are not limited. Collage and installation allowed

International Participant Condition :
To join the competition, the candidate must :
- Be 15 year old at the minimum (as per 1 January 2012).
- Send his or her valid copied ID along with CV via email, enclosed with painting image in jgeg format, 300 dpi resolution, completed with the title, measurement, media, the date the painting are made, and brief explanation about the work. All of which are sent to jakartaartaward@yahoo.com.
- Make the original painting with actual size of 50 cm x 120 cm at the minimum, and 120 cm x 120 cm at the maximum.
- Send the paintings images via email before 4 August 2012
- Send the works made during 2010 – 2012
- Every candidate is allowed to send 5 (five) paintings at the maximum and obliged to submit two images of other paintings as reference for Judge Council.


For all the nomineess
- they would be written to or called up by the committee
- The original paintings should be rolled up and put into tubes in conform to the international standard for artwork, sent on personal expense. The receipt should be sent to JAA 2012 committees to be reimbursed
- The winners and finalist of the competition would be announced on September 2012 in Ancol Art Market, Jakarta, Indonesia; in printed media; and in the official website of JAA www.jakartaartawards.com and jakartaartaward.wordpress.com


Time Allocation :
- The competition would be announced through local and online media advertisement starting from march 2012.
- August 4th, 2012 : closing date of the competition and so is the latest date of paintings submission.
- August 29th, 2012 : The Judge Council will asses First Judging, selecting the finalist through the images received in email.
- 3 – 8 Sept 2012, : The committee will announce the nominees via snail mail, email, and by phone.
- sept 22nd, 2012 : will be the latest submission of participants original artworks based on the images received by the orginizer via email.
- Sept 28th, 2012 : the Judge Council will asses Second Judging to select the winner and the finalist.
